Are you taller than medieval people?

Small doorways and suits of armor did not mean people were shorter in the days of yore. "Over the past five millennia the average height of men in Britain has remained stable at about 5ft 7in, and that of women at 5ft 3in." I think saying "ni" makes you taller. Maybe it's all the cattle steroids in American beef and milk, but doesn't 5ft 7in sound like a low average?
