This weekend, why don't you make a workbench. Or better yet, a workbench with a concrete top.

I'm not sure how I feel about the concrete top. I like a workbench top that is a little easier to modify... but a solid top is also a must.

I like it for no other reason but because it's cool to the touch--like lab tables in science class--and concrete is less expensive than soap stone or slate.
