The most interesting thing I've read about this whole New Yorker cover mess is a New York Times article asking the bigger question, can anyone joke about Barack Obama?

Ok, I'll joke about him (so sue me). The first time I saw him he reminded me of the "Jumpy UPS Guy" on Mad TV (Mainly because of the similarity in physical appearance. That can be either good or bad;

Good - because the character was hyper enthusiastic and loved his job
or bad because the character looked so goofy.

For "equal time" - John McCain reminds me of the emperor from the Star Wars movies because of the way he looks. (similar facial features to Ian McDirmid)

I don't joke about God either, for the exact same reasons.
