"Are children sounding the global-warming alarm?" So asks Stephen Dubner after noticing "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" and "Happy Feet" have thus far generated about $1.4 billion. That's a lot of whippersnappers spending their parents' money and imbibing stories about climate/environmental change. Do these children then, through force of whining, get global warming pushed up the ladder of the American zeitgeist? Olivier and John and David all highlighted the same quote recently, "He who writes the stories defines the culture." But in the roshambo world of storytelling, a children's tale might trump the adult one.
