Pencil in the Brain

There was a Simpsons episode where it was revealed that Homer had a crayon stuck in his brain for most of his life. I quit watching the Simpsons about that point. Not as much because he did have a crayon stuck in his brain but the dumb way the writers went about explaining how the crayon was never noticed in any of Homer's head X-Ray's before that time. It was clear the writers weren't treating the show with the same respect. Now, that little rant is inspired by the news story of a lady having a pencil stuck in her brain 50 years.
