I'm looking forward to finishing that article and may comment on it later. Bear - I believe the trip we took there was two years too soon or not well planned, or maybe both. We were not yet of drinking age and the person's house we were staying at wasn't a 5 minute walk from Bourbon Street as it was advertised. I would love the opportunity to go back and try it again. Have you been back there? What are your thoughts on our trip to Mardi Gras?

I'd like to try to do New Orleans again during none Mardi Gras time. It seems hard to enjoy New Orleans during the middle of crazy.

I'd want to spend more time eating good food, seeing beautiful sites, and talking to colorful locals and less time waiting in lines for booze.

Three things from my last trip to Mardi Gras stand out.

  1. Pre-Crazy Britney threw me beads.
  2. In a town famous for seafood and cajun food Joe ordered a pizza
  3. Walking 2 hours to get to the French Quarter can really kill your desire to party.
