Sundy Morning Sports

Two wonderful pieces of sports journalism I read this morning.

  1. First, a Sports Illustrated piece written by Don DeLillo in 1972 about a weekend he spent with his cousin who is a professional gambler. I enjoyed it for a number of reasons but on the most basic of levels it was interesting to read how gamblers gambled pre cable and internet. It's also always fun to read about the bad beats. 2. Second, Michael Lewis writes about the Moneyballazation of the NBA using Shane Battier as his primary subject. It's hard to not like Shane Battier even though he played for Duke and that's saying something my friends.
