2. And, I'm sorry, but if we let robotic spiders happen even after all the movies warning against them we deserve to die.

The only thing worse then either of those robots alone, would be a horrible Robot Doom-Sphere which is used for Spider Killbot deployment. Yup, then we'd be seriously boned.
