Average is beautiful?

"If we choose healthy partners because our visual system picks them out due to perceptual fluency, then we may still have an evolved mechanism to prefer averageness." I've never heard it put that way, but in dealing with clients, I have encountered a human predilection for averageness. Lamentably, most people prefer: safe, boring, tame, lukewarm, ho-hum, stale, trite. Guess the most popular variety of bagel? Plain.

Camembert-encrusted salmon? How about some beluga on that with a dusting of truffle?

As long as we're going down this road... Asiago bagel with bacon-scallion cream cheese is probably the best widely available bagel combo.

The latest big seller in the 864 is Low-carb whole wheat mesquite-smoked crabmeat salad with capers, feta cheese and fennel.
