CHOOSE RESPONSIBILITY is a nonprofit organization founded to stimulate informed and dispassionate public discussion about the presence of alcohol in American culture and to consider policies that will effectively empower young adults age 18 to 20 to make mature decisions about the place of alcohol in their own lives.

As a rule of thumb, responsible use of alcohol starts with selecting a red for steak or pasta dishes with tomato sauces, and most cheeses. White is best with seafood or cream-based pasta dishes.

I believe that the drinking age should be dropped to 18 years of age but only for beer. Growing up in Wisconsin this was still the norm back in 1964 when I turned 18. I enlisted in the Navy in 1965 couldn't drink anything in New Jersey or Illinois because they were 21 but could drink in New York which was 18. In 1966 I was stationed in Puerto Rico which had no discernable age and when I returned to the States in 1968 I was 21 so I was legal anywhere. When the age was 18 in Wisconsin the younger people congregated in Beer Bars which were closely supervised by the owners because theitr licenses were at stake if they were caught selling to under age youths. There was less trouble with binge drinking because young of age people could go anytime and have a beer because it was no big deal.
