I don't have the time, space, or energy to go into all the details. I'm sure you don't want to read all that either. So, here's a quick rundown of the highlights:
Simple design with gobs of whitespace to let the photos speak for themselves.
Unique CSS-based navigation.
Nifty implementation of Flash with a custom-built photogallery-type-thing.
99.9% valid XHTML (strict) -- The only thing holding it back is the fact that I chose to embed the flash object within the <noscript> tag. Evidently this is a no-no because the <noscript> only accepts text tags. However, I felt the trade-off was worth the error.
It's tested and works well in Firefox, IE6 and Opera with
limited almost no bugginess in Safari.
I just found out that Charter.net (which serves much of Greenville) has once again dropped the ball. If you use Charter and try to visit Cox Photography you may not see the new site. They seem to have a cached DNS pointer which effectively hides the new site from Charter subscribers. This happened last year when we switched the DNS server for the Swamp Fox. It took about 2 days to figure out that it was Charter's problem and then about 2 weeks and a lot of complaining to get it straightened out with them. I hope it doesn't take a fortnight this time.
