Pink to Ekman to Lightman

I finally got around to reading Dan Pink's book A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future. What makes this book interesting and helpful to me in a way that many "Business" books are not is that Pink doesn't just state a thesis and back this thesis up with facts and anecdotes. Pink also suggests things ways to improve your right brain thinking. He praises other books and suggests you seek those out as well. Hell, he even links to (as best a book can) websites that provide more information on the subject as well. It was very much a book for the web world and was a delight.

On a side note, a person that got a lot of space in A Whole New Mind is Paul Ekman who is a psychologist who is a pioneer in the study of emotions and their relation to facial expressions. Ekman is the basis for the best new TV show of the season on Lie to Me. Give that watch too if so inclined.

Lie to Me is an awesome show; but it's the 2nd best show of the season. C'mon Adam - you have to pony up for Fringe.

I could take the easy way out and say that we are both right in that Fringe started at the beginning of the TV year but Lie to Me (I believe) started at the beginning of the actual year but I won't.

I like Fringe and watch every episode but in terms of quality shows each week Lie to Me wins. That being said, Fringe, you still have a chance to take the lead. Here are my suggestions on how to do this,

1.) Kill off Pacey or let him do more than be Walter's sane foil.
2.) Don't forget Massive Dynamic
3.) The freakier the monster the better

Love that book. Shall we start a laugh camp?

All I could think of during the laugh camp part was this scene from Road to Wellville
